Bouncy Buds Prototype Launch Update - 1

This project is a school project that I worked on for my AI class. I had half the semester to apply the principles we learned to creating a game with AI agents. The agents had to display state switching abilities as well as utilize Unity's built-in NavMesh system for pathfinding.
I am quite proud of the research that I did for the game, but I feel that I could have dedicated more time to the actual gameplay and AI systems rather than learning visual scripting and shader graph creation. Overall, I am glad that I focused on learning those unique skills because I would like to explore those further in my future projects.
Some major things that I learned during this project's first development phase are:
- Using Unity's NavMesh system is helpful for AI agents, but it is useful to read the documentation linked with the different components of the NavMesh package.
- Keeping visual script graphs organized is essential for understanding the flow of the processes you've created with various nodes.
- Shaders are incredibly helpful in establishing cohesion in the visual aesthetic, and they can make the game feel more professional really quickly when applied.
- Keeping scripts and other assets organized and well-documented throughout development is crucial to allowing the entire process to continue running smoothly.
This first phase was launched to itch.io on 05/30/2025
