Split Overhaul Update - 4
This update overhauled the main code for the game. It fixed major issues with how the abilities function, properly displays the mental and physical health values through diegetic and non-diegetic UI, includes basic wandering enemies (without basic attack on touch functions, but their detection and attack states are in the works), and the update made the abilities function more closely with their concepted designs. The game is scripted to work with PC, with console and mobile support on the way. The animations for the player were removed in the process, as an art style for the game is being developed.
The main ideas I learned from this sprint were:
- Maintaining clean and portable code is a must.
- Documenting code properly will help if anything needs revisited or fixed.
- Implementing UI and features for concepts that haven't been fully fleshed out can waste development time.
