Bubble Bends Launch - 1


This game is a project I worked on with my older sister for this year's Global Game Jam competition. The game development club that I am president of worked with staff to host a jam site at our college. I spent 48 hours coding systems, implementing designs, and building the overall game with the art assets that my sister worked on. This version includes sound, which was added after the 48 hours ended because I wanted audio to be in the game.

I feel as though I could have done more work with the UI menus, but given the time that I had, I feel that they are fine for now. I plan to continue working on this project because I really like the concept and design idea, and the scripting for the mechanics was fun to explore.

Some major things that I learned during this project's first development phase are:

  • Making sure code is clean early on helps avoid any major delays or set-backs.
  • Communicating with designers and artists effectively and often is crucial to keeping the development flowing.
  • Properly documenting my code helps me find any issues that are present or where parts are broken.

This final version of the prototype was launched to itch.io on 01/27/2025.
